G.One — CG Suit Design & VFX
My first major VFX project in the industry. Contributed VFX, lighting, shading, and simulation work to this Bollywood superhero blockbuster starring Shah Rukh Khan. The film won the National Film Award and Filmfare Award for Best Special Effects, making it a career-defining start that set the foundation for everything that followed.
VFX Breakdown — Luma Animation
My first major VFX project in the industry. Responsible for lighting and shading CG elements to integrate seamlessly with live-action plates, matching practical on-set lighting conditions for photorealistic CG character work. Also contributed simulation work for VFX sequences. The studio was one of the early beta testers for Solid Angle's Arnold renderer, using it in production before its public release and providing direct feedback that helped shape the tool. The scale and ambition of the production forced rapid problem solving and built the technical foundation I've relied on for every project since.
The VFX work on Ra.One was recognised with both the National Film Award and the Filmfare Award for Best Special Effects, a significant achievement for a South African studio contributing to one of Bollywood's most ambitious visual effects projects at the time.
